今年剛滿二十歲的英國創作才女歌手 Adele，去年由獨立音樂廠牌 Pacemaker Recordings 發行 Hometown Glory 單曲在社群網站 MySpace 大紅且又拿下「○八全英音樂獎（Brit Awards 2008）」的「最佳潛力新人（Critics Choice）」，今年初又因這首 Chasing Pavements 一舉拿下英國單曲榜亞軍和 iTune Store 冠軍；超齡療傷系嗓音，這兩週才真正認識且瘋狂愛上這年輕女孩。陽光正好邊盪鞦韆邊唸書邊問自己知識和信念是啥時，哼著；夜裏走在路上兩腿被凍得紅通通讓音符被冷風颳走時，也哼著。是最近的主題曲。

有沒有路人會問，怎麼那麼多情？不是最愛戴佩妮嗎？怎麼又愛上 Adele？因為她年輕貌美嗎？因為剛好寂寞心情嗎？呃...這...這不需要跟全世界解釋吧？這是個人情愛啊！Oops，出軌。原諒我！親愛的 Penny！情愛真多的一個詭譎個體...囧。

Motion Theory 的導演 Mathew Cullen 幫她拍攝樓上這實在螫痛人心的 MV，用所謂超現實的舞蹈鏈結一場車禍和一段破碎的情愛關係。

在 Motion Theory 的主網上解釋著這 MV（還能下載回自己電腦每聽慟哭做治療），一開始是這對情侶開車撞上大樹後的車禍殘骸場景，Adele 在車上總不面對關係中男性角色反而總面對閱聽者的獨白，接下來鏡頭一轉變成人行道上的這對情侶如二次元抽象舞蹈劇般演譯著從相戀到相離（falling in and out of love，主網原文如是說）的關係轉換；用的是經歷情愛過的閱聽者能同感，再簡單不過的「圍巾掉落初識」、「牽手共舞相戀」、「女步步走向男擁吻」、「女反身給男信且另一男影出現」和「女回拉男衣角擁抱卻被男頂開」，是個深入淺出的詮釋學。最後要奪你盈眶熱淚的，就是最後增強式（enforced）的反覆段（chorus）和眾人齊舞，呈現人世情愛關係的共同性與共生性、獨立性與獨異性、集體性但又個體性；曲終人散，逝去的，即便眾人怎麼解救，或過程怎麼曲離，兩人還是被送往不同的末端。

其中自己頗感有趣的一段解讀，是 Adele 離開密閉（卻又開放給閱聽者）的車廂，甩上車門，嘴裡唱著讓自己更勇敢堅強，等著當身心再也撐不下去時，最後會有所可能嗎？決斷地讓自己離開僅有兩者的封閉思索，往不管是放手（give up）或明知無結果地繼續走（keep on chasing pavements）的抉擇過程去行進，也是另一種女性自覺。

而這一段段舞蹈，Motion Theory 褒獎著導演，說其雖以二次元方式呈現，但卻也演出活靈活現如發生三次元人行道上這段情愛，不管它長短，不管過程繁簡，人生一瞬，就在一首三分半鐘的 MV 裡，層層條理漸漸堆疊起閱聽者的情緒高低潮。

說到導演，這支 MV 的表現實在不俗，Mathew Cullen 同時是 Motion Theory 的合夥創辦人（還幫 HP 和 Lenovo 等拍商業廣告，工業設計大獎常勝並涉入現代藝術領域，十足跨界成功代表～囧）。

最後補充一句插話，CT 問：「女的幹嘛一隻腳沒穿鞋啊？」另一 CT 不加思索答道：「車禍啊！」但卻發現，原來如果英語人說光著腳在熱騰騰人行道上走（e.g. He runs barefoot on the hot pavement.），是指人做出愚蠢的行為。這，是過分解譯了嗎？非常符合 critical discourse analysis 精神啊！實在有執行 CDA 的潛質喔～ CT，給你拇指！

接下來，再推四月剛推出的單曲 Cold Shoulder（冷肩膀，多令人討厭啊～尤其是又高聳又冷淡時～囧），另一首會讓閱聽者震懾的編曲（過場和最後的弦樂）與 Adele 的面部表情（哈～有夠不屑），視聽都超棒。
